The Children Who Witness Abuse Program provides one-on-one counselling and group counselling to children of different ethnic backgrounds. It supports the children and provides them a safe environment to express their feelings and to develop social, problem-solving and coping skills. The services provided to individuals and groups focus on:
Children and youth, age 0 to 19, need to be in a stable environment prior to receiving counselling. Counselling for expecting mothers and parenting groups are also provided. Upon request, group counselling can be held at the school. Confidentiality is strictly maintained. Services are free. Funding for this program is provided by: Ministry of Community, Aboriginals, Women's Services CAPC-Health Canada. |
